Чрезвычайно высокая распространенность, прогрессирующее течение, множественные тяжелые, порой инвалидизирующие, осложнения, преждевременная смертность, большие материальные затраты - вот неполный перечень социально-экономических характеристик данного заболевания. Неизменно самыми распространенными у этой категории пациентов остаются сердечно-сосудистые заболевания (ССЗ).</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a relevant problem today. The extremely high prevalence, progressive course, multiple severe, sometimes disabling, complications, premature mortality, heavy financial burden - this is an incomplete list of the socio-economic aspects of the disease.
