В настоящее время кашель является одной из наиболее частых причин обращения населения за медицинской помощью. Острый кашель сопровождает течение острых респираторных вирусных инфекций, а только в России ежегодно их регистрируется от 27,3 до 41,2 млн случаев системы [3]. Количество пациентов с хронической патологией бронхолегочной системы (хроническая обструктивная болезнь легких, хронический бронхит, бронхиальная астма) не только велико, но и имеет тенденцию к росту, а кашель является одним из ведущих симптомов при этих патологиях.

The number of patients with chronic bronchopulmonary pathology (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma) is huge; what is more, it tends to increase, while cough is one of the major symptoms of these pathologies.
