Согласно результатам метаанализа 36 исследований, выполненных в 35 странах, средний возраст наступления менопаузы составляет 48,8 года (95% ДИ 48,3–49,2) со значительными колебаниями этого показателя в зависимости от географического региона проживания женщин: ниже в Африке, Латинской Америке и ближневосточных странах (47,2–48,4 лет) и выше в Европе и Австралии (50,5–51,2 года) [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="cit1">1</xref>]. Количество женщин в пери- и постменопаузе в связи с увеличением продолжительности жизни растет. В России оно составляет в настоящее время более 21 млн. Средний возраст наступления менопаузы в РФ колеблется от 49 до 51 года, при этом в условиях дефицита эстрогенов женщины живут практически 1/3 своей жизни [2, 3].</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Menopause is the final cessation of menstrual cycles due to loss of follicular activity of the ovaries. According to the results of a meta-analysis of 36 studies performed in 35 countries, the average age of menopause onset is 48.8 years (95% CI 48,3 – 49,2) with significant fluctuations of this indicator depending on the geographical region of residence of women: lower in Africa, Latin America and middle East countries (47,2–48.4 years) and later in Europe and Australia (50,5–51,2 year) [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="cit1">1</xref>]. The number of women in peri- and postmenopausal phase in connection with the increase in life expectancy is increasing. In Russia it is currently more than 21 million.
