В 2011 г. ВОЗ приняла решение о возможности использования в качестве диагностического критерия СД уровня гликированного гемоглобина (HbA1c). Неоценима роль HbA1c при выборе сахароснижающей терапии. Согласно «Алгоритмам специализированной медицинской помощи больных сахарным диабетом», стратификация лечеб- ной тактики у больных с впервые установленным СД2 определяется в зависимости от исходного HbA1c [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="cit1">1</xref>].</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The focus on the problem of diabetes mellitus (DM) is associated with the increasing prevalence of the disease and the risk for the development of many vascular complications (nephropathy, retinopathy, lesions of the great vessels of the heart, brain, peripheral vascular disease of the lower limbs), in the development of which chronic hyperglycemia plays a crucial role. In 2011, the WHO decided that glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) could be used as the diagnostic criterion for diabetes. The role of HbA1c in the choice of hypoglycemic therapy is invaluable.
