На протяжении последних десятилетий первичная и вторичная профилактика сердечно-сосудистых осложнений (ССО) является одним из основных направлений современной кардиологии. В статье рассмотрена взаимосвязь риска развития ССО с параметрами липидного обмена. Обсуждаются основные клинические исследования, результаты которых составляют доказательную базу применения статинов с целью снижения риска развития острых коронарных и цереброваскулярных событий.

Primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular complications (CVC) has been one of the key areas in modern cardiology over the past decades. The article examined the relationship between the risk of CVC and the lipid metabolism parameters. The article discussed the major clinical trials the results of which constitute the evidence base for statins use to reduce the risk of acute coronary and cerebrovascular events.
