Несмотря на то что опасность новой коронавирусной инфекции, как может показаться на первый взгляд, исчезла, SARS-COV-2 оказывает сложное и недостаточно изученное воздействие на многие системы органов, включая нервную. Прогрессирование заболевания и неблагоприятный исход COVID-19 обусловлены не только поражением легких, в значительной мере также влияют пожилой возраст, сопутствующая патология – гипертоническая болезнь, сахарный диабет и др.</p></sec><sec><title>Цель</title><p>Цель. Изучить структуру смертности при новой коронавирусной инфекции COVID-19, вызванной дельта-штаммом коронавируса SARS-CoV-2, с учетом характера сопутствующей соматической и неврологической патологии, степени коморбидности, фатальных осложнений, возраста и пола.</p></sec><sec><title>Материалы и методы</title><p>Материалы и методы. Проведен постмортальный анализ медицинских карт 209 пациентов с COVID-19 с коморбидной соматической и неврологической патологией, получавших стационарное лечение в ковидных госпиталях республики Мордовия в 2021 г. Анализировали степень тяжести основного заболевания, сопутствующей терапевтической и неврологической патологии, коморбидности. Оценивали совпадение заключительного клинического и патологоанатомического диагнозов, фатальные осложнения. Представленные данные позволили выявить основные факторы неблагоприятного исхода.</p></sec><sec><title>Результаты и обсуждение</title><p>Результаты и обсуждение. При неблагоприятном исходе заболевания сопутствующая патология представлена гипертонической болезнью, ишемической болезнью сердца, хронической сердечной недостаточностью, хронической ишемией мозга. У женщин чаще отмечались случаи сахарного диабета и атеросклероза, у мужчин – гипертонической болезни и хронической сердечной недостаточности.</p></sec><sec><title>Выводы</title><p>Выводы. Новая коронавирусная инфекция COVID-19, ассоциированная с дельта-штаммом вируса SARS-CoV-2, характеризуется тяжелым и крайне тяжелым течением у пожилых пациентов с коморбидной соматической и неврологической патологией.</p></sec></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><sec><title>Introduction</title><p>Introduction. Although the risk of emerging coronavirus infection may seem to have disappeared at first glance, SARS-COV-2 has complex and poorly understood effects on many organ systems, including the nervous system. Disease progression and unfavorable outcome COVID-19 are not only due to lung damage, elderly age, concomitant pathology: hypertension, diabetes mellitus, etc. have a significant impact.</p></sec><sec><title>Aim</title><p>Aim. To study the structure of mortality in a new coronavirus infection COVID-19, caused by delta strain of coronavirus SARS- CoV-2, taking into account the nature of concomitant therapeutic and neurological pathology, the degree of comorbidity, fatal complications, and sex and age characteristics.</p></sec><sec><title>Materials and methods</title><p>Materials and methods. A postmortem analysis of pathological and anatomical conclusions of 209 patients with COVID-19 with comorbid somatic and neurological pathology who received inpatient treatment in covid hospitals of the Republic of Mordovia in 2021 was performed. The severity of the underlying disease, concomitant therapeutic and neurological pathology, and comorbidity were analysed. The coincidence of the final clinical and pathological diagnoses, fatal complications were assessed. The presented data allowed to identify the main factors of unfavourable outcome.</p></sec><sec><title>Results and discussion</title><p>Results and discussion. In unfavourable outcome of the disease, concomitant pathology is represented by hypertension, ischemic heart disease, chronic heart failure, chronic cerebral ischemia. In women, cases of diabetes mellitus and atherosclerosis were more frequent, in men – hypertension and chronic heart failure.</p></sec><sec><title>Conclusions</title><p>Conclusions.
