Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

Author Guidelines

Only articles that have not been previously published elsewhere can be published in this journal. A submitted article to the journal should not be under review in any other journals.

Articles both in English and Russian are accepted. The Russian-language articles that have been found the best, in opinion of the editorial board, are translated into English and published on the journal’s website.

Articles formatted out of accordance with the above instructions shall not be accepted or reviewed.

All articles submitted to the journal will be reviewed. Reviewers work with the article confidentially, strictly observe the author's right to non-disclosure of information contained in the article before publication.

Articles shall be accepted by the editors for consideration only if they are accompanied by a cover letter from the institution, where the authors work, to be addressed to the editor-in-chief of the journal.

The author should sent the article  personal account on the website of the journal “Medical Council”  www.med-sovet.pro, attaching scanned copies of the cover letter and the first page of the article to be signed by all authors in * .pdf format. The article shall be signed by all authors or one of them, which assumes liability and affixes his/her signature with the note “agreed upon with all co-authors” (a cover latter and signatures of the authors can be sent either scanned or by fax). Be sure to specify the surname, name, patronymic of the author, with whom the editors will correspond, her/his email address, contact phone number or post address.

If a fast-track publication of research studies, including those conducted as part of the grants, in the closest thematic issue is required, the journal can accept an article on a fee-paying basis (Article Publishing Charge, APC), but ONLY after getting positive peer reviews and approval of the editorial board and editor-in-chief. The cost of fast-trek publication is 55,000 rubles. A request for a fast-track publication should be sent to the e-mail: kosareva@remedium.ru  (Tatyana V. Kosareva).

Structure of the article:

• Article title: The title should be simple, concise (up to 10 words), contain descriptive terms and expressions that clearly outline the main content of the article. The title of the article does not allow the use of abbreviations and abbreviations, as well as trade (commercial) names of drugs, dietary supplements, products, care products, medical equipment, diagnostic equipment, diagnostic tests, etc. (more detailed information: http://doi.org/10.24069/2542-0267-2018-1-2-80-85)
• Initials and surname of the author(s) indicating the profile of ORCID, e-mail. The author who contributed most to the study shall be listed first. Be sure to indicate the author for communication.
• Name of institution(s), where the authors work, together with an indication of the full address of the institution. Indicate each author’s affiliation with a lower-case superscript figure immediately after the author’s name and in front of the appropriate organisation name.
• An abstract of the original studies should be structured and include the following sections: topicality, purpose, materials and methods, results, conclusions. The abstract should be fully consistent with the content of the work. The abstract is an article-independent source of information. It can be published separately from the main text of the article; therefore it should be informative, able to induce a potential reader to read to the full text of the article, contain the main results and data from the article. The abstract should contain 200 to 250 words.
• Keywords. The author shall specify key words (5 to 10) that contribute to indexing articles in the search engines. Keywords should complement the information provided in the title. When selecting keywords, the author should use terms and expressions that are repeatedly used in the text of the article. Variants of terms (for example, heart and cardiac), names of drugs, procedures, abbreviations of terms (for example, BP, CAD, etc.) can be used as the keywords. Make sure that the search results obtained after keywords are entered in the search engine, match the topic of your article.

•  Metadata in English.

Article title. The English title must be competent from the point of view of the English language, while its meaning should fully correspond to its title in Russian.

Author names. The author’s name shall be consistent with the name registered in the ORCID database ORCID or spelled in the same way as in the articles previously published in the foreign journals. Authors who publish their article for the first time should spell the name in accordance with the BGN transliteration standard or as written in the foreign passport.

Affiliation. It is necessary to indicate the OFFICIAL ENGLISH NAME OF THE INSTITUTION as it is indicated on the official website of the organization.

Abstract. The English-language version of the article’s abstract should not look like a loan translation of the Russian-language abstract but correspond to the Russian-language version in terms and structure and be literate in terms of the English language.

Keywords. Keywords in English shall match keywords in Russian.

• The full text should have an IMRAD structure and contain the following sections: introduction (topicality), purpose and objectives, materials and methods (patients and methods), discussion, results, conclusions.

The volume of the manuscript (excluding metadata) should not exceed 6000 words. If the article’s volume exceeding the established standards is justified in the author’s opinion, and cannot be reduced, the decision to publish shall be made by the editorial board upon the recommendation of the reviewer.

Units shall be provided in terms of the SI system; the use of nonconventional abbreviations is not allowed in the article; all abbreviations should be defined at the first mention, hereinafter only the abbreviation is used; uncommon and highly specialized terms should also be defined.

Requirements for the text design of the article: Format - A4 sheet; font - Times New Roman; point size - 12; line spacing - 1.5; fields: upper and lower - 2.5 cm, left - 2.0 cm; right - 2.0 cm; format of the document when sending to the editors - * .doc or * .docx. The author can highlight any words in the text by using ONLY bold or italics, but NOT the underline. All repeated spaces and extra line breaks should be removed from the text.

When describing drugs, the active substance (international non-proprietary name - INN), commercial name, manufacturer, country of manufacture should be indicated on first reference; all names and dosages should be carefully verified.

The description of the post-registration clinical trials of drugs, food products, biologically active additives, dietary food supplements and child care products should include information on the registration and market authorization for these products by official licensing authorities (authorization number, authorization date).

• Bibliographic references in the text of the article shall be arranged in square brackets in order of mention by the author (not alphabetically!) in strict accordance with the list of references. Number of works cited: at least 30 are allowed in original articles and lectures, and at least 40 sources in reviews.

Citing a journal article in accordance with this style means that the author should indicate the names and initials of the authors (if there are more than six of them, the first six authors shall be mentioned, etc.; if there are only seven authors, all seven shall be mentioned), full title of the article, full title of the Russian-language journal (or abbreviated name of the foreign journal according to its accepted abbreviated name), year, volume, number, page (first and last), DOI, if any. If the cited source does not have a DOI, but is located on the Internet, the URL of the source should be included in the description. The specified link should be verified. When citing a book publication (books, monographs, conference proceedings, etc.) - surnames and initials of authors or editors with parentheses (eds.), full title of the book, place, publisher and year of publication, page. No references to abstracts of dissertations, patient information leaflets are allowed.

It is necessary to include references to articles from Russian and foreign periodicals with obligatory indication of a DOI identifier or address of a home page of a periodical on the Internet, which provides access to full text sources or their metadata. If the source you are referencing is missing an author, such a source shall be cited in the form of a corresponding footnote in the text. The citation of textbooks, study guides, reference books, dictionaries, collections of articles, dissertations, conference abstracts, and other small-circulation periodicals are to be avoided if at all possible.

• Bibliographic references shall be duplicated in Latin in the section with the subtitle References according to the following rules:

Reference to an article from a Russian-language journal:

1. a) the author should use the English data from the original article - full names of the authors, English title of the article in Latin;
2. b) if there is no English-language metadata in the cited articles, the article title should be translated  into English (paraphrase); the names of the authors should be transliterated;
3. c) Russian-language titles of the journals shall be transliterated with the exception for the journals that recommend the option of citing articles from a journal in the metadata of their issue and use a parallel English name in the journal (and in the ISDB) in the section For citation;
4. d) the language of the article shall be indicated at the end of the bibliographic description with the translation of the article title (In Russ.);
5. e) if the article cited has DOI, it shall be indicated at the end of description;
6. f) if the cited source does not have DOI, but is located on the Internet, it is advisable to include URL of its location in the description;

• Artwork and illustrations. Artwork and illustrations in the form of tables and figures may be attached to the article. The editors may reduce the amount of artwork and illustrations in the article subject to agreement with the author. The author shall indicate the place of the illustration in the text of the article by making a reference to a table or figure. The artwork and illustrations shall be numbered in the order of mention and italicized (example:  Figure 1, Figure 2, etc., Table 1, Table 2, etc.).

Tables should contain only the necessary data and represent generalized and statistically processed materials, be easily readable and understandable, have a title, units of measure for each indicator, the presence or absence of statistical significance of data differences should be indicated. Tables should be placed in the text of the article; they should have a numbered heading. These tables should correspond to the numbers in the text, but should not duplicate the information presented in it. The author should make references to tables in the text.

Figures should be sharp and contrast. The amount of graphic material is minimal (with the exception of works where this is justified by the nature of the study). Each figure should be placed in the text and accompanied by a numbered legend. The author should make references to figures in the text.

Images in the form of black-and-white or colour photographs (NOT graphs, charts, diagrams, drawings and other hand-drawn illustrations) are presented only in electronic form (individual files in * .pdf, * .tiff, * .jpeg, * .eps with resolution not less than 300 dpi, at least 92 mm wide). Image files should be given a title corresponding to the number of the picture in the text. The description of the file should include a legend that corresponds to the title of the photograph placed in the text. The titles of the figures and legends with all designations to them should be provided in a separate file. The titles of tables, figures should be translated into English. Authors should provide the informed consent of the patient or his legal representative to publish patient data, including a photograph of the patient, medical history, or family history.

• Information about the author/authors shall be given at the end of the article as follows: surname, name, patronymic, academic degree, academic rank, position, full name of the institution with departmental affiliation; institution address; reference to the ORCID profile; e-mail. Information shall be provided in two languages.

• Additional information (in Russian and English)

Information about conflict of interests. Authors should disclose potential and explicit conflicts of interest related to the manuscript. Any situation (financial relations, service or work at institutions having a financial or political interest in published materials, job duties, etc.) that could affect the author of the manuscript and lead to concealment, distortion or change interpretation of data can be considered a conflict of interests. The presence of a conflict of interest in one or more authors is not a reason for refusing to publish an article. The concealment of potential and obvious conflicts of interest in the authors revealed by the editors may cause a refusal to consider and publish the manuscript.

Information about authors’ contributions. For teams of authors, it is advisable to indicate the contribution of each author to the study and creation of the manuscript   the contribution of each author to the study and creation of the manuscript should be indicated. Options for participation may be the following: article concept; study concept and design; writing text; collection and processing of material; literature review; translation into English; material analysis; statistical processing; editing; approval of the final version of the article; and so on.

Acknowledgments. In an Acknowledgements section, authors may wish to include the names of persons or organisations and contributions of those.

Authors shall not be charged for publishing their articles.
